The Pfeiffer Fountain was erected in the Art Nouveau style for the Rastatt Trade Exhibition in 1901. Guido Pfeiffer, who had become wealthy in Mannheim, donated the fountain to his home town of Rastatt.
Originally, the Pfeifer Fountain was located on the central axis of Kaiserstraße behind the town hall. After extensive renovation work, the Pfeiffer Fountain has stood in front of the Fruchthalle since 2005.
Children discover Rastatt:
The Pfeifferbrunnen no longer had the function of supplying residents with drinking water. It only served to beautify the town. The fountain is adorned with water-spouting dragon figures.
Dragons were purely mythical creatures, even for the children at the Mouse School. No one has ever seen a winged dragon. Good and evil dragons often play an important role in books, films, on television and in the movies, but also on the Internet. Children all over the world know dragons, which usually look strong, big and dangerous. But there are also friendly dragons that help people.
