In the south of Rastatt, on the municipal borders with Baden-Baden and Iffezheim, there are remnants of the Ice Age that bear witness to climatic conditions that we can no longer even imagine today. Nature has changed so much that the sand dunes in the inland areas still give us clear indications of how the course of the Rhine has shaped the landscape over thousands of years. As it still does today. With fens in the immediate vicinity, the field of tension could hardly be greater. The Rastatt floodplain forest occupies a special position in the PAMINA Rhine Park. This natural area and its special features are also included in the tour.
