Life on the Rhine has always been an interdependent relationship. For a long time, the Rhine had an existential impact on people's lives, influencing where they lived, their homes, jobs and health. The straightening of the Rhine by Johann Gottfried Tulla in 1817 marked the beginning of a new era for the course of the river. This cycle tour reveals the development of the Rhine region, including its agricultural use. The highlight of the tour is a visit to a farm that has been operating a small oil mill since 2021. A tasting of the regionally grown sunflower, hemp and linseed oils at the end rounds off this special cycle tour.
